Good morning,
And happy New Year! I already set up my journal for the new year. As Iโm writing this, I have yet to fill it out with the goals I decided on. I thought I would share the ready-to-fill pages to inspire you to make your own journal.
You will find everything in this Notion page.
If youโre curious, we will go into more detail on how I fill these out. Again, I wish you all the best for 2023. ๐
Best,
Lou
๐ฌ Languages
Korean was definitely my main focus this year. I improved a lot, to the point that I can watch TV with Korean subtitles only and understand the best part of it. It will remain the main focus of the next few months, and probably throughout all of 2023.
I became fairly fluent in Italian, kept my level of Dutch and reviewed my German. I hope to maintain my level in the following year, mostly by listening to a lot of content.
If I ever feel good enough in all the languages I already learnt, Mandarin Chinese would be my next target. I donโt think Iโll have time to tackle it in the following months, if ever this year. But yes, Iโm thinking about it! It would be my seventh language.
โ๏ธ Design
My design favourites and goals are all linked to work this year, but Iโll see if I can share more of my personal projects soon. Let me know if you would like me to elaborate more on this part.
๐ Favourites (of the year)
๐ Book
I reached my goal and read 20 books this year! I definitely read a lot more the first half of the year, but this simple number goal helped keep me going until the very last day.
According to Goodreads, my favourite of the year is a tie between 2 fiction books. If youโre more into fantasy book, try Mistborn 1: The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson. If youโd rather go for fantastic science-fiction, read Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. Both classics, both excellent.
๐๏ธ Podcast
My favourite podcast of the year is probably Voice Hugs. I listen to a lot of science-based inspirational content, but this one just felt really comforting and unique.
๐ฑ App
Downdog is definitely my app of the year. I love having a go-to app for health routines, and this one is the best yet for stretching with their yin yoga program.
๐ฌ Video
Many good videos came out this last week, but I have to recommend 22 Problems Solved in 2022 by Wendover Productions. It is a bit more focused on the USA, but most news are international. I hope it brings you hope for the year to come!
โ๏ธ Quote of the Week
Draw the art you want to see, start the business you want to run, play the music you want to hear, write the books you want to read, build the products you want to useโdo the work you want to see done.
