This was a really great post!!! I also agree with you; people overthink anki a bit. Plus there are so many plugins to make it simpler.

I’m going to make a video about this, this month :3

I like my cards and setup super minimalistic and ready to go, but it is so customisable for everyone! I don't use plug-ins, so I can't wait to see your method! 😊

This is a fantastic post! Like you, I swear by Anki and I love the convenience of the mobile app they have. It just makes things convenient. Even if I've been less consistent doing my reviews these days, I still reap the benefits.

Great post! I use anki infrequently but I'm a big fan of SRS systems. Audio + sentence or word cards are the best in helping me learn new words and sounds when I start out in a new language.

I don't know much about his bidirectional translation method but all of that seems boring. I have a bilingual copy of The Little Prince (English and Mandarin) and I only focused on the Mandarin side and ignored the English even though I didn't know the story. Just because something is easier doesn't mean it's enjoyable or that people will stick to it. Also, why can't people do multiple things? Anki is not the end all be all. Many people who use Anki also use other methods and resources.

It's the use of multiple materials and consistency that leads to improvement.
