🗓️ Gentle habit tracking template for language learners
Another free Notion templates for you to customise
Dear reader,
I followed my own advice and spent the past week going to bed early and waking up when I’m fully rested. Needless to say, I feel so much more relaxed and motivated to get things done.
Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of world building for my Dungeons & Dragons campaign. However, I know most of you follow me because you like learning, and not for the storytelling part. See for yourself:
So instead of boring you to death with the 3 arc structure, mystery building and other dungeon ecology, I thought I’d share something I’ve been trying for the past month. Following my post about my toolbox method, I made a Notion template to help me track my language learning more easily. Here’s the post in case you missed it:

In the template, you’ll be able to add everything action step you can take towards your goal. I decided to give them different values so that I would be motivated to do harder things. I also linked all of these steps to my goal from my Goal template I shared for the new year.
If you’re wondering what the little star means, it tells you which tasks you should do depending on its value and how often you did it since you started.
Once you added all of your action steps, all you have to do is logging tasks in the calendar. You’ll find this view in the second tab.
For every daily entry, you can either enter the action steps manually, or use buttons to make it quicker. I left some of my entries as an example in the month of August.
I’m curious whether other learners actually log and track what activities you’re doing. What has been working for you lately? Do you need tracking at all to keep going? If you need another Notion template, you can also request it in the comments. 😊
I hope this helps or at least motivates you to keep going.
Best,
Lou
✍️ Dear language learner
Here are a few sentences to test yourself. You can add them to your notes or spaced-repetition system if you’d like!
🌱 Beginner
I listen to this language every single day.
🌿 Intermediate
I should practise speaking more often.
🌳 Advanced
I’m not sure what I should be focusing on to improve my skills.
Thank you for reading “I heard from Lou”. It can be hard to find people who share your passion for learning. If you have friends who might like this letter, let them know.
Really appreciate the template! Just started tracking my lang learn activities and this template helps a lot :)
